FAQs
Cope Recovery is a comprehensive adult, residential treatment center. We treat substance use and/or addiction including, but not limited to: alcohol, opioids, cocaine, amphetamines, benzodiazepines, marijuana, “party” drugs, methamphetamines, poly-substance use, etc. Additionally, we treat a wide range of co-occurring mental health and co-morbid disorders that may impact and be addressed during your recovery process
Cope Recovery is able to work with a wide range of insurance plans. You can confirm with our Admissions Staff whether your insurance is accepted. If it is not accepted, our Admissions Staff can work with you to develop other payment alternatives or we will provide an appropriate referral, if necessary. Please note that we are an out-of-network provider and, as a convenience and courtesy to our clients, we offer insurance benefits verification, insurance billing, and utilization review services.
All clients will meet with their doctor to be assessed, whether or not they are in need of a detox process. Our intent, at Cope Recovery, is to respect your dignity and to listen to your expression of your needs. Those clients requiring detoxification can be assured that they will receive the necessary supervision, 24-hour observation, compassionate nursing care, medication assisted treatment, and overall support to ease withdrawal symptoms and foster your transition from substance use to active participation in your recovery experience.
During the initial detox period of your stay with us, we encourage clients to detach from their phones so they can focus on this challenging stage of the recovery process. Once the detox phase has been completed, clients are able to confer with their counselors to determine what degree of phone use is most conducive to the goals of their individual treatment plan. You can be assured, however, that you will always have access to a phone.
At Cope Recovery, we will work with you, on an individual basis, to determine what is most conducive to your successful treatment plan. For some clients, it is necessary to detach from technological triggers. For other clients, it is important to maintain professional and/or educational continuity.
At Cope Recovery, we do provide an approved outdoor smoking area for tobacco products. In accordance with California law, there is no indoor smoking. This use of other forms of tobacco or nicotine products - snuff, chews, gums, patches, oral pouches, etc. - will be discussed with the doctor and your treatment team.
In California, there is no overarching ban on vaping in residential treatment centers. At Admissions, your counseling team will work with you, on an individual basis, to determine what is most helpful for your long term treatment goals. Similar to the smoking of tobacco products, vaping is allowed in the designated smoking area.
Clients are encouraged to bring comfortable clothing that will allow them to enjoy the various amenities that our treatment center has to offer. Since there is an inviting pool and hot tub on the premises, make sure to bring suitable bathing attire. Many of our treatment options involve physical activity. So, please bring comfortable activewear and supportive athletic footwear. Cope Recovery provides soothing outdoor spaces so definitely bring warmer outerwear so that you are comfortable on cooler evenings. Toiletry items ARE provided at the center, but clients are encouraged to bring any personal toiletries that make you feel more “at home.” Your admissions team can provide you with a specific packing list if desired.
Our treatment center is staffed 24/7 for your safety and security. Clients are encouraged to bring items that facilitate their comfort and their sense of being at home. Since we do not provide safes on the premises, we suggest that you bring a minimum amount of cash and/or other valuables with you.
At Cope Recovery, the goal is to achieve a balanced day. Each day, our staff will support you in creating balance between treatment activities and personal time; between communal activities and private reflection; between active recovery and restful stress reduction. Each client will have a plan for group and individual therapy as well as time for assessments, individual appointments, and visitation.
Most meals are communal and prepared by an in-house chef, who is able to meet dietary needs, including vegan, vegetarian, low-sodium, non-dairy, etc. and snacks are available throughout the day. Please discuss your dietary needs and restrictions with the Admissions team.
Each client’s treatment plan is unique and tailored specifically to your needs. Therefore, your residential treatment program lasts the amount of time you need to gain the necessary tools and confidence to successfully meet the challenges of leaving our facility.
Yes. Family and loved ones are encouraged to visit you and to participate in your treatment process. We have established visiting hours as well as the ability to accommodate additional visitation opportunities. During the admission process, you and your treatment team can determine when and how your family and loved ones' presence can be most beneficial to your recovery journey.
At Cope Recovery, we believe that your focus should be on your healing. Your valuable treatment time will not be used by adding gratuitous chores, and will be focused on the internal work needed for sustainable recovery. We provide housekeeping for both communal and private spaces. We do ask that clients respect the treatment environment by picking up after use of communal spaces. If you require help or support with this type of life skill, we are happy to work with you so you are able to better care for yourself and your loved ones once you return home.
The following items are prohibited: weapons of any kind; non-prescription drugs or medications; prescription medications that are not current, alcohol, sharp items (scissors, pocket knives, etc.), electronics or devices other than those discussed with your treatment team.
